Automatic handoff for Claude Code: when an account reaches 95 % of a limit and another account has room, the agent writes a short handoff, Altseat ends the session and resumes the same conversation on the next account, in the same terminal.
On by default; turn it off in the Accounts window or with altseat handoff off. altseat handoff status shows the state and altseat handoff on [--at <percent>] turns it back on, optionally at another threshold.
Altseat adds its hooks to ~/.claude/settings.json (they run altseat hook claude) and keeps each handoff file under ~/.config/altseat/handoff/; altseat doctor reports the hooks.
Codex CLI and Kimi Code do not hand over yet; altseat handoff status says so.
Onboarding, trust and CLAUDE.md includes acknowledgements given on the primary Claude account now also reach a secondary that holds a false default, so the next account does not ask again.
The session resumed on the next account reads the handoff without a permission prompt; Altseat pre-approves only the Write or Edit of that one file, and its Read after the resume.
